Home Appreciation Calculator is used to estimate the value of a home after a number of years. The appreciation calculator uses compound interest to determine the future home value based on the appreciation rate and the current home price.
The home appreciation calculator is calculated based on the purchase price and the sale price by using the formula below. R = (S - P)/P, where R = Appreciation Rate S = Sale Price P = Purchase Price For example, if you bought a house for $500,000 and sold it for $600,000, the following is how you calculate how much your home has appreciated. R = ($600,000 - $500,000)/$500000 R = $100,000/$500,000 R = 0.2 or 20% Therefore, your house appreciated 20%. If you want to know the future home price based on the current home value and a theoretical appreciation rate, the formula is given below. F = C (1 + r/n)^(nt), where F = The future value of the home C = Current home value r = Annual interest rate n = number of times the interest rate is compounded per year t = number of years For example, if the current home price is $600,000 with an appreciation rate of 5%, let's calculate how much the house will be worth in 10 years. F = (600000)(1+0.05/12)^(12*10) = $9,773,367.76 The $600,000 home will be worth $9,773,367.76 in 10 years with a 5% appreciation rate.
